Our Story
For over two decades, Joe Kroll Builder has been rooted in the Louisville community, earning a reputation grounded in the quality of the homes built and the relationships formed along the way. Joe meets personally with every client at the start, taking the time to understand their lifestyle and vision before anything else. Those early conversations often include tours of active build sites across Louisville, giving families a tangible sense of what is possible from the very beginning.
Once a build is underway, a dedicated designer works closely with clients through every decision that shapes how their home looks and feels. From the overall layout to finishes, fixtures, and the details most people would never think to consider until they are standing in the middle of a framed house, nothing gets overlooked. At the same time, an experienced project management team coordinates with subcontractors across every trade, from foundation to final trim, making sure the vision established at the start is carried all the way through. When questions or changes come up along the way, the whole team is accessible and involved, keeping every decision grounded in both the vision and the budget.

Joe Kroll – Founder
Joe brings a level of personal investment to every project that clients notice from the very first meeting. He is easy to work with, direct, and genuinely enjoys the process of taking something from an idea to a finished home. There is a humor and relatability to Joe that makes the whole experience feel less intimidating. He is not the kind of person who shows up in a suit and talks over your head. Clients who have worked with Joe tend to describe the experience as feeling less like a transaction and more like a collaboration with someone who actually cares how it turns out.
That approach carries through when things get complicated, and in homebuilding they always do at some point. Joe has a natural ability to keep perspective when the unexpected happens, finding solutions without making the client feel like the process is falling apart. Over the course of a build that can span more than a year, that kind of steadiness and reliability matters more than most people anticipate going in.
Joe leads every initial client meeting personally and sees every project through to closing, making sure the relationship and trust built from day one carries all the way through to the end.
Jennifer Burgin – Lead Interior Designer
Jennifer graduated from the University of Louisville in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Fine Art with an emphasis in Interior Design. From 2000 to 2003 she worked at Scorpion Interiors in Louisville, where she worked alongside an architect specializing in retail sales, space planning, and lighting design. Between 2003 and 2010 she joined Wilson Design Associates, also known as Liz at Home, in New Albany, Indiana, taking on full scope interior design work spanning from blueprint stages through selecting furniture, fabrics, and finishes for clients’ homes. It was during this time that she first began working with Joe on his new construction projects.
From 2010 to 2013 Jennifer took time away from her career to start a family. She returned in 2013 joining Century Entertainment and Furnishings, where she assisted with Homearamas before being brought on as a sales associate and interior designer. Her work there brought her back into contact with Joe and his new builds, deepening a professional relationship that had been years in the making.
Since 2021 Jennifer has served as the interior designer for Joe Kroll Builder, guiding clients through every stage of the building process from start to finish and helping them make informed decisions about every detail that shapes their home.

Brady Kroll – Intern
Brady graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science in Business, a pre-med background, and a minor in Real Estate. After taking the MCAT, Brady found himself drawn in a different direction — not away from medicine, but toward something he had not fully anticipated: a genuine passion for real estate, working with people, and the kind of hands on, fast moving environment that comes with it. That passion, combined with a lifetime of being around the homebuilding business through his father Joe, made the decision to join Joe Kroll Builder a natural one.
Brady is currently in the early stages of his career with the company, spending his time learning every aspect of the business from the ground up. From understanding the trades and sitting in on client interactions to working on the company website and handling the day to day needs of a growing operation, he approaches each day as an opportunity to absorb as much as possible. He is also pursuing accounting coursework with the goal of obtaining his CPA license, with an eye toward eventually understanding both the operational and financial sides of the business with equal depth.
Brady brings a grounded, people first approach to everything he does. He works with a sense of perspective, genuinely enjoys finding solutions that work for everyone, and is committed to growing into a meaningful role within the company over time.

Our Goal
At the end of the day, every decision we make comes back to one thing: the family we are building for. We measure the success of a project not just by the quality of what gets built, but by how the people living in it feel when they walk through the door for the first time. That is what drives us, and it is what we bring to every project regardless of size, scope, or timeline.
If you are thinking about building a custom home in Louisville, we would love to start the conversation!
